Burnside Telecom Ltd. is a designer and
manufacturer of innovative fixed cellular terminals and desktop
mobile phones for voice, SMS text, internet access,
cellular-landline routing and remote telemetry sensing and control.
Our products are in use in 19 countries throughout the world, and
customers include mobile network operators, government agencies,
local and police authorities and multi-national companies.
Burnside products are used in a wide variety of
applications including telecare, social alarms, police operations,
defence, mobile working, industrial monitoring, office
communications, transport, railway and marine communications.
Burnside's founder David Robson is the first winner of the GRIST
Award [Great Ideas in Science and Technology] granted by the
University of Surrey. Other companies he has founded include
Cambridge Computer Graphics and International Medical
Corporation.
IPR Industries Ltd is an investor in Burnside Telecom. IPR's
founders also created Technophone Ltd - the company that designed
the world's first truly pocket-sized cellular telephone. When
Technophone was sold to Nokia in the early 1990s, it was the fourth
largest manufacturer of mobile phones in the world.
